This event was inaugurated by Mritunjay Singh, Pune DC Head. Mritunjay shared his experience and insights about the need for the development of Soft skills, for a fresh entrant to any IT organization. Neelesh Wadke, E&R Manager – Pune Phase2 shared the role of E&R as Infosys Growth Engine. A digitalized Campus Connect Overview was presented by Pune Campus Connect Anchors, Soudamini Patil and Sarfaraz Jaitapkar. Nidhi Dhanju and Renu Vadhvani from ILI, highlighted on the importance of Soft Skills in students and set up the context for this workshop. Priya Kudchadker form Pune E&R was the master of ceremony for the inauguration.
The topics covered in this workshop included, The Art of Communication, The Hidden Data of Communication, In the World of Teams, Discussions, Decisions, and Presentations, Adapting to Corporate Life, and Mentoring, Coaching & Counseling. These sessions were facilitated by, Renu Vadhvani, Consultant, Infosys Leadership Institute (ILI); Saji Philip and Ambuj Jain – Cornerstone Consulting (Infosys’ soft skills alliance partner).
One of the most important take aways of this workshop was a better understanding of the pre and post deployment process of Soft Skills Training Program, along with assessment and evaluation framework. Soudamini Patil presented the Soft Skills deployment Process and framework using deployment guide walk through. Sarfaraz Jaitapkar presented the Campus Connect Portal walkthrough giving insights of different Soft Skills artifacts available. Deepak BV from Entry Level Recruitment Team at Pune discussed the Infosys Recruitment Philosophy with the participants. This session helped the participants in appreciating the need of soft skills development at the early age of engineering education. The participants created miniature models of city which help them to appreciate the importance of working in teams. Rachit Dholakia from PED unveiled a student’s transformation to an IT professional as a personal experience. He shared the challenges faced in this transformation and how the early identification of the need of soft skills development helps a student to become a successful professional.
During the workshop, participants presented soft skills rollout plans at their respective colleges. They also maintained reflection journals, to record insights of each day.
