The Campus Connect team at the Bangalore DC recently organized a soft skills
workshop for the faculty of its partnering colleges. 36 participants from 19
partner colleges across Karnataka attended the five-day workshop that
emphasized the deployment framework of the program and generation of case
studies.
The topics covered in the workshop were:
-
The Art of Communication
-
The Hidden Data of Communication
-
In the World of Teams, Discussions, Decisions, and Presentations
-
Adapting to Corporate Life
-
Interview Handling Skills
-
Mentoring, Coaching & Counseling
The sessions were facilitated by Stanley and Noor Fatima from Stanley David and
Associates (Infosys’ soft skills alliance partner); Devendra Chowdary and Aruna
C. Newton, Principal Consultants with the Infosys Leadership Institute (ILI).
The team building activity, where participants made 3D models of a township,
gave them an opportunity to learn and work together in the session. . Another
highlight was the unique Teach Back sessions, where the trainees and trainers
switched seats.
A better understanding of the pre and post deployment process, along with a
clearer picture of the assessment and evaluation framework, was one of the most
important takeaways from the workshop. The participants maintained a reflection
journal, to record insights from each day.
The closing ceremony was graced by Somnath Baishya, Head of Global Entry Level
Hiring and Campus Relations. He made a brief presentation on the Importance of
Soft Skills for Fresh Entrants - A Recruitment Perspective. Devendra
Chowdary from ILI suggested ways of implementing the learnings from the
workshop, and expectations from the participants. Certificates, mementos and
group photographs were presented to all the participants.
The Campus Connect team would like to thank all the facilitators of the
workshop; Stanley, Noor, Devendra, Mukundh and Aruna. Thanks are also due to
the CCD, Security, Facilities and Finance teams at Bangalore for their
unconditional help.
