Deep Dive Faculty Enablement Program – Objectives and Participants

The Campus Connect Team at Mysore DC conducted the first Deep Dive Faculty Enablement Program (DDFEP) from 20 April 2009 to 23 April 2009. The Focus of the event was on Programming. 35 Faculty Members from 19 Colleges attached to Trivandrum, Mangalore and Mysore DC participated in this event. Glimpses – Inauguration

Prof. Subraya B.M, AVP, Head of Global Education Center (GEC), Mysore presented the keynote address, Mr. Sundar K.S., Group Manager, E&R presented on “Role of Infosys Campus Connect Program and Driving Industry Electives”, Dr. Ramesh Babu, AVP, E&R joined through VC to set the Context, Framework and Takeaways of the Deep Dive FEP.

The journey continues – The sessions

The program covered the Infosys Foundation Program Training covering 4 modules: Problem Solving Techniques, Programming Basics, Testing & Code Review and User Experience Design. Demonstration of Raptor and Alice tools was a part of the 4 day sessions. The Participants were given a case study in Employee Information System to generate the Design documents, Test Plans , Source Code and they did Unit testing and Code Review for the given functionality. The Code was integrated and the defects were logged in Defect Tracking System.

The highlight of this Deep Dive FEP is that the participants were able to understand the industry perspective of SDLC stages and its implementation.

The Team E&R, Mysore enthusiastically supported the entire event: Dr. Mohan S, Shanmugam Rajasekaran, Vaishali Mudkhedkar Raoke, Anooja Mary Jacob, Narayanan Krishnan, Ambuj, Anjali, K.N.Vani and Rithesh Kumble from Mangalore DC delivered the sessions. Ranjan M from Assessment team, E&R, Mysore Conducted Online Assessment for the above modules. Rithesh and Vani presented the FP Deployment Guide with new changes in Restructuring. Rithesh also presented the Bloom’s Taxonomy – CAMP model. Nethravathi N and Veerayya R, E&R admin has taken care of entire Logistics.

R.N. Prasad, AVP , E&R joined the concluding day sessions for the Learning of DDFEP and Road Ahead.

The feedback of the participants was overwhelming with Learning ability, Industry Expectations from fresh entrants, Effectiveness of Foundation Program as the Key Learning’s during the program.

Thanksgiving

We would like to thank all the Senior members who had shared their experiences with the delegates. We would also like to thank Sundaresan Krishnan, Meenakshi S, Sureesh Joseph, Hari S and Rithesh who helped us in execution of this Programme. The program would not have been possible without the support of the facilities, CCD, Travel, Finance, Security and CC admin.
