The Campus Connect team at Hyderabad DC successfully conducted the fourth STP-FEP (Special Training Program-Faculty Enablement Program) between January 21 and 25.

The objective of STP is to enable unemployed engineers from underprivileged socio-economic backgrounds to become industry ready, and thus employable. This is done by providing technical training in the field of information technology and behavioral skills. In STP-FEP, we share Infosys’ educational and project experience with the faculty of engineering colleges, who in turn will train STP students. They will also leverage these sessions to train students from their respective college in the Foundation Program (FP). The faculty enabled through the STP-FEP training will conduct classes for the upcoming 25 STP batches, covering 2,500 students by June 2009.

Team Campus Connect, Hyderabad DC conducted a series of four STP-FEPs between October, 2007 and January 2008.

The fourth STP-FEP, organized between January 21 and 25, covered 50 faculty members from 42 engineering colleges. The faculty who participated in the program all had a computer science background, with experience ranging from three to 18 years. The fourth STP-FEP covered:

The support of the DC management, Business Enabling Groups in Hyderabad and E&R folks across DCs was a great source of encouragement to the participants as well as the organizers. The Campus Connect team would like to thank Prasad R. N., AVP – E&R, and Dr. Ramesh Babu, AVP – E&R, for the support extended throughout the program.

The team would also like to thank the educators/enablers for this program: Sudheer (HTML, Java Script, CSS and XML) and Java & Advanced Java, Gopi Krishna (J2EE), Kantha Reddy, Program Manager, IEG (Unix) and Manorama (Oracle).

Here’s a snapshot of the feedback from participants:

  • In our college we have observed 8% growth in terms of industry ready skills and employability rate. Before Campus Connect, the success rate was about 1% during the recruitment by all companies. After Campus Connect programs the success rate is about 8%. Thanks a lot to Infosys Campus Connect and its continuous and untiring efforts
Prof. Lakshmikanth, FEP participant from SRTIST, Nalagonda
  • Our college management is delighted to have Campus Connect programs, as the seats in the college are completely filled due to the popularity and results of CC in our local area. Parents are enquiring with college managements before admitting their children whether a college has CC or not? More students from rural backgrounds are benefiting from the Infosys CC programs.
Prof. Mohanrao, FEP participant from MLCE, Singarayakonda.
