Team Campus Connect at Hyderabad DC has successfully conducted the Project Driven Faculty Enablement Program (FEP) from 9th – 12th June, 2009. The theme of the FEP was “Best Practices in Programming and Testing”. 62 faculty members from 38 CC partnering colleges have participated in this event. All professors were from Computer Science background and had a varied experience from 3 to 15 years.
The event was inaugurated by Gururaj Deshpande, Divisional Manager-BCMD who delivered keynote address. Srinagesh, Senior Manager, E&R Campus Connect conducted an interactive session on “Role of Infosys Campus Connect Program and Driving Industry Electives”. Dr. Ramesh Babu, AVP & Head, Campus Connect, joined through VC and shared his thought provoking views and outcomes on Context, Framework and Takeaways of the Deep Dive FEP.
The FEP covered four modules from Infosys Foundation Program Training: CHSSC, Programming Basics & Testing, Object oriented concepts and RDBMS core. Demonstration of Raptor tool, NetBeans & VC++ IDE tools were also part of the four day sessions.
Participants were given a case study on Telephone Directory Maintenance Systemto generate the Design documents, Test Plans, Source Code (in C language with flat files) and they did Unit testing and Code Review for the given functionality. The Code was integrated and the defects were logged in Defect Tracking System.
The same project was implemented in Java with the aid of a database. The highlight of this Project driven FEP was that the participants were able to understand the industry perspective of SDLC stages and its implementation.
