Foundation Program Launch Workshop

Chandigarh DC @ Swami Keshvanand Institute of Technology, Jaipur 18th – 20th Aug 2009


A customized three day workshop was conducted by Chandigarh Campus Connect team for 10 partner colleges of Rajasthan at Swami Keshvanand Institute of Technology and Management (SKIT), Jaipur, that was very well received by the participants for its effective and efficient delivery.

Objective of the Workshop

  • Enhancing effectiveness of Campus Connect offerings in the region
  • Launch of the new Foundation Program
  • Share with colleges specific feedback on the students joining us from their respective colleges – in the recruitment, training and on-the-job performance
  • Improving intake quality of students
  • Formulation of FP batches in a collaborative manner
  • Faculty enablement for FP courses
  • Facilitate higher participation of the colleges by holding the workshop in their region
  • Technology penetration by enabling colleges on online assessment framework

Highlights
  • Principal Meet
    o    The workshop started with a Principal meet of all the participant colleges where
          Dr. Ramesh Babu addressed 27 delegates including Principals and SPoCs through
          video conference at the college.
    o    Laying stress on the effectiveness of the program, the performance metrics and college
          specific performance data was shared with all the participants.
    o    Overview of New Foundation Program - basis of Restructuring, course coverage,
          duration, assessment methods and weightage.

  • Faculty Enablement Program
    o    Conducted in batches for faculty taking the respective courses
    o    Sessions covering content walkthrough for the courses - ICS, OS, PST, P&T and
          RDBMS
    o    Case studies, brainstorming and presentation by groups
    o    Raptor tool overview, demonstration and hands-on by participants
    o    Integrated Project and evaluation guidelines
    o    Discussion on CAMP guidelines and assessment methods

  • Roadshows
    o    10 roadshows were conducted at the respective campuses of the all participant colleges

  • Student Assessment and Collaborative Formulation of batches
    o    As a pre work for the workshop, moodle was installed and tested at these colleges and
          question papers on analytical & general awareness were shared with the faculty
          members
    o    8 colleges conducted the test using moodle for 5th-7th semester students after the
          roadshow
    o    Formulation of FP batches based on the student assessment and ranking in the class

Feedback

   The response and feedback was overwhelming and encouraging. The Campus Connect member    partner colleges expressed a keen desire to work towards enhancing the effectiveness of the    various Campus Connect initiatives in their respective colleges.

   Colleges also felt encouraged to conduct similar workshops/programs in their campuses as well.
