Conclave – 2nd Feb. 2011

The objective of the Conclave is to bring together the target engineering college
management under one roof to discuss:
- The need and actions for industry-academia collaboration
- How industry - academia can enhance the pool of highly capable talent for growth
requirements in the Information Technology space
- Roadmap for enhancing the quality of IT education
|
The Conclave saw a participation of 36 delegates from 12 engineering colleges from
states of Punjab, Haryana, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh and Delhi. These colleges were
identified for participation in Conclave based on:
- College credentials and reputation in the region
- Recruitment team feedback
- Readiness for Campus Connect

- Address on‘Industry Academia Collaboration Models and Campus Connect’ by
Manisha, Principal – Education and Research(E&R).
- ‘Campus Connect Key Offerings’ by Manoj Manuja, Principal and DC Manager
– E&R.
- ‘Relevance of behavioral and business skills’ by Renu Vadhvani, Principal
– E&R.
- ‘Foundation Program Deployment Process and brief overview of Campus Connect portal’
by Neeraj Garg, Senior Member – E&R.
- ‘Experience Sharing on CC Benefits to College, Faculty and Stduents by an existing
partner college’ by Prof. Ashish Oberoi and Prof. Manjit Singh, Mullana Univeristy,
Ambala
Focused Group Discussions and Action Plan Formulation by Colleges:
- The participants were divided into groups and moved to separate discussion rooms.
The objective of the brainstorming session was to formulate the action plan for
their institutes. To attain this, each college was given a briefing on effective
action planning.
Towards the end of the brainstorming session, each college shared its action plan
and perspectives. Sharing of action plan in this manner was appreciated by institutes
as it helped them take note of important points shared by the other institutes
Sharing Industry Expectations and Experience with Colleges :
- 'Expectation from Fresh Entrants: An Industry Perspective’ by Rajneesh Chauhan,
Anchor SAP, Chandigarh DC.
- ‘Infosys Mysore Training Experience and Key Challenges’ by 2009 Infy recruits.
During the closure, DC Head Vikas Ahuja felicitated the delegates and shared
his views on Industry academia collaboration significance.
