| WEBINAR ON DISTRIBUTED DATABASE SYSTEMS |
Chennai DC Campus Connect team successfully conducted webinar on the topic “Distributed Database Systems” on 23-March-2009. The presentation was addressed by Mr. Sanjay Sugumar, Technical Evangelist – Education & Research Department.
Webinar session received participation from 12 Campus Connect partner colleges (09 attached to Chennai DC and 03 attached to Mangalore DC).
The topics covered during this Webinar were:
1. Motivation of Distributed Database Systems
2. Advantages and Disadvantages of Distributed Databases
3. Distributed Database Architecture
4. Fragmentations
5. Allocations
6. Transparency Features
7. Overview of Concurrency and Transaction Management
Presentation was of 60 min. followed by 30 min. of Q & A session, drawing participation from all participating Campus Connect colleges.
