Aspirations 2020 is a unique platform introduced by Infosys as part of its Campus Connect initiative. It brings the best talent from across engineering colleges in India together, to interact, enjoy and learn, while winning accolades and fame in the process…
The Aspirations 2020 contest for East Zone culminated in the state finals on March 23 at Bhubaneswar DC. Forty eight state finalists participated in the event. They were shortlisted from over 9,700 registrations in 60 engineering colleges across six zones in the states of Jharkhand, Orissa, West Bengal and Sikkim. The finalists emerged after competing in several initial rounds of various contests of teaser contests, college making among others.
Abhijit Sen, DC Head welcomed the participants and set the context. The Chief Guest for the event, Dr. Omkar Nath Mohanty, Vice Chancellor, Biju Pattnaik University of Technology (BPUT), inaugurated the event.
Highlights of the event:
1. Programming Contest (PC): PC aims at fostering problem solving and algorithmic thinking abilities. The online event was anchored by the Dev Square team.
2. Quiz: The objective of the quiz is to sharpen general and industry awareness. This event was anchored by the Lloyd Saldahna, Greycaps team.
3. Distinguished student (DS): This contest, anchored by the Lloyd Saldahna, Greycaps team, aims at recognizing versatility. The jury members included Pramod Prakash Panda (IVS), Bobby Patnaik (HRD) and Amrita Deo (E&R).
4. Paper Presentation (PP): This contest recognizes articulation abilities through presentation on technical topics. The jury members for the event included Nirmalya Mishra (MFG) and Debi Prasanna Patnaik (MFG).
